Text reads: Superfest Disability Film Festival. As stills in animated film reels, snippets of the diversity of Superfest 2023, with many types of disabilities apparent, racial background, genres, and geographic settings.
About the festival:
Thank you for joining us for Superfest’s 37th festival! Our festival will be a hybrid of in-person (in San Francisco/Berkeley) and virtual (on Eventive).
To access the festival, we will be selling “passes” instead of “tickets.” Regardless of what level you purchase a pass at, you will receive full access to all aspects of the festival. All passes sold will have access to BOTH in-person events and full digital access.
Our Eventive site collects film descriptions, a place to purchase passes, and a place to view the films all in one. In addition, you can access tech support directly on the Eventive site if you need any help navigating the site.
Check out the film lineup and make a mental note of films that interest you!
VIRTUAL:
Instead of watching the films synchronously, they will be available on demand for the whole weekend (October 19-22) for you to watch when it is convenient for you. We will also have a live virtual discussion for festival attendees to chat and share reactions to the films.
On the digital site, we have split the films into three “screenings,” the first providing the films shown in person Saturday, the second screening of the Sunday films, and the third screening option with those selections only being offered virtually. Each pass allows you to “unlock” all of these three screenings without additional fees. Once you access a screening, you also have the option to bounce around to any of the films in that screening.
IN PERSON:
Saturday, October 21, Freight and Salvage, 2020 Addison St, Berkeley, CA - 12-2pm PT
Sunday, October 22, Asian Art Museum, 200 Larkin St, San Francisco, CA - 1-3:30pm PT
In-person space is limited. To reserve your spot in-person, please select which days you will attend during checkout. This will serve as your “ticket” into the venue (we will have a list of folks and get your name at the door). The Asian Art Museum has generously agreed to not collect any fees to the museum to attend so feel free to come early and check out their exhibitions!
